on new years eve there are so many festivities to be had. since I am in high school no one is throwing a party so I will probably just stay home with the family. For all of y'all who are going to fun parties I have a few outfit ideas.

wishlist: new TB flats

I don't know if y'all have noticed or not but i am quite the TB fan, and when I found these shoes I thought I had to have them, so they are officially on my wish list! They are kinda pricey, so i might have to wait for them to go on sale, but they are so unique!

Winter formal: the do's and the don'ts

As January is quickly approaching us I find myself thinking about what I am going to wear to winter formal, and over the years I have discovered what works, and what doesn't.


DO'S

•  wear what you want. I have seen so many girls  wearing practically the same thing at winter formal because they felt as though they needed to blend in. I say wear whatever the heck you want, you are only young once. So if you want to wear a fluffy Betsey Johnson number and all your friends are wearing bandage dresses GO FOR IT!

• dance like no one is watching. At so many dances I have been to everyone is just standing around for the first 45 minutes, be the first one to dance. Trust me everyone will thank you from saving them from the awkwardness of standing around.

• HAVE FUN!!

DON'TS  

• please wear something that covers you, it's okay to show some leg, but what is not okay is when you show some leg along with some chest. No one needs to know you that well!

• Don't act like Brittany. I don't mean to sound like your mother, but respect yourself enough to not let some guy get all over you on the dance floor.

• Never say no to a slow dance its just plain old rude, no matter how dorky the guy is just suck it up and dance for 3 minute, I promise you will survive.

LULULEMON REVIEW!!

This past week i went to LuluLemon and bought a few things. My sister swears by their wonder unders, so I decided to give their stuff a shot, and I am sure glad i did! At first I was hesitant to pay $80 for workout gear, but that was before I tried on their clothes. Let me just say this. I am in no way shape or form a workout clothes junkie nor am I a gym rat, but I am taking a zumba/Pilate's class twice a week so I thought my workout wardrobe could use some updating.

These crops were too cute! the chevron is not only adorable, but surprisingly flattering too! the thick waistband on most of their bottoms creates a smooth stomach, rare in spandex pants.

Which is super soft and stretchy. I haven't washed it yet, so I will have
 to see how it holds up, but finger crossed!

HOW THE TIME HAS GONE BY!!

OH MY GOODNESS, I HAVE NOT POSTED IN ALMOST A MONTH , SHAME ON ME!! I have been so busy, and for some reason my blogger account does not work on my laptop, so I have to use the desktop so I just haven't had the time to post, and I realize hat a month is far too long to go without a single post!! So, since I haven't posted in the longest time I will post a lot this week!!

I do love a bargain, but sitting out in the freezing cold on thanksgiving day is not my cup of tea. Usually every black friday me my sister and my dad head over to the local Saks, and we usual leave the store with a few bags full of goodies. In past years I have scored Tory Burch revas , a Rebecca Taylor silk dress and many other great finds. This year I may go back to Saks, or just shop from the comfort of my home as cyber monday has turned into cyber weekend and the sales have started already! They are having having a great sale, as they are offering up  to 60% off! These are just a few of the great items Saks has on its website for black friday!

The End Of An Era.....

Recently I have learned that Rugby will be going out of business by early February, this is just unacceptable as I absolutely adore Rugby and to think that they would be shutting down is just impossible. The company will be closing its doors by February 2nd so stuck up while you can!

The Trend: Celebrities going to college

Lately I've noticed a trend were teens in the spotlight are choosing to attend college, this is a great thing as I believe that anyone who has the chance to get a higher education should defiantly take advantage of that opportunity. These are three celebs who are attending college now.

A New Discovery!!!

 So recently as I was browsing shopbop I came upon this fabulous brand called Parker. Their stuff is glamourous but yet still wearable, and most items are either silk, beaded, or leather, which is quite unique. Unfortunately their garments are a little pricey, but if you find the perfect piece or a piece on sale I think it is well worth it.

As you can see in the collage above the line is definitely very whimsical and makes great stuff for anything from a cocktail party to sunday brunch. You can purchase Parker at places like shop bop, Saks, Nordstrom or Barney's!

Thanksgiving Time!!!

Now I realize that Christmas is a much more important in many peoples eyes, but I personally feel as though Thanksgiving is an under appreciated holiday. Once Halloween passes suddenly its all like  "Christmas is here" when really the Pilgrims have not even arrived!! That is why today I will be blogging about my favorite parts of thanksgiving.

1: The food!! Who doesn't love a thanksgiving feast, its one of the few days a year were it is acceptable or even encouraged to pig out. My faves are pumpkin pie and turkey.

2: To me thanksgiving is the perfect time to wear that perfect fall dress and the Rayton Dress from Jack Wills is PERFECTION.

3: To me Thanksgiving is very much family oriented especially because I have a small family, we all like to get together and enjoy each others company. Usually it is just me, my dad. mom, and my sister along with my 89 year old grandfather. Occasionally we have my dads twin and his wife over, but as they live in England it is quite the hike and they do not usually join us.

P.S. Romney won in my mind, and the Republicans still have 2016!!!

college footwear

Today I will be posting about college footwear. While browsing the web I came across some awfully cute shoes that came in college colors! Now I am only a freshman, but my sister is a senior and is fully emerged in the college process, so it is on all of our minds.

Crazy Week!!!

Good news I have power back!! I just got it back this afternoon, and I am beyond excited to have a warm home!! Considering how other homes were literally ripped apart we came out of hurricane Sandy relatively well, with just one tree down in the back yard.  It was so cold during the week and we didn't have power, so I thought today I would post about some option to keep warm during these recent cold days.

The first outfit I wore on the day after the storm, except the hat pictured is the same style except not the same design as mine. My Kate Spade hat says Brrr on it and is blue, red, and white instead of the ski hat design pictured. the Under Armour leggings pictured there are an essential in my wardrobe, as they keep you warm and stylish. Hunters are also a must year round, I just got mine about a week ago and they are so cute in the red glossy color.

The second outfit pictured, has these awesome Rag and Bone corduroys that I find myself wearing much more often than I thought I would, they are warm and super soft thin whale corduroy. The cashmere J.Crew cardi looks really warm, and I really want one, but they are a little pricey so I may wait until they are on sale.


Hope all is well, and those of you who have suffered from Sandy are doing alright. We have another storm coming later this week ugh, which may mean the power will go off again, so I may not post for a few days after that. I promise to get a least another post in by thursday!

Hey y'all! So Lilly Pulitzer resort is on sale now, and I am absolutely in love with EVERYTHING. The colors are so bright and cheery, and I adore the seahorse print, especially the seahorse bikini *cough*  Santa? *cough*. The coral lace dress is also to DIE for, but  the horizontal band across the waist may not be to flattering on my vertically challenged 5'4 frame. The white dress with the orange and pink embroidery is also fantastic, no necklace is needed!

Ok now I know it's not even halloween, but when the cold weather comes rolling in  I can't help but fantasize about those days in March were i'll be some where warm decked out in Lilly! So when I heard  the Pink Pelican was having a Lilly pulitzer resort trunk show I literally jumped for joy. The sale goes through tonight, and even though they are not offering a discount ( if only!) the fact that I know my lilly will be in my arms in less than a month makes me uber excited.

HOMECOMING WEEKEND!!!!!!

This weekend is Homecoming!! I am beyond excited, to see all the festivities tomorrow, not to mention the dance which is also tomorrow. Since my school doesn't have a football team, the big game of the day is boys varsity soccer, so I will try to make it out for that one. Girls varsity field hockey is also big, and considering my sister is on the team I will probably be watching that one too. My friend N is on JV volleyball so i'll try to see at least part of her game, but there is just so much going on I have  no idea how to fit it all in! After the games there is the dance, and before the dance i'm getting ready at N's house which I am sooo excited for. The theme as I mentioned in an earlier post is Saints and Sinners, and i've narrowed down my dress choice to two, but I just can't decide! After the dance  there is the big bonfire, usually the bonfire is before is the night before homecoming , but the weather was not cooperating so it was moved to after. I'll make sure to update later this weekend with photos!

PS. I have been brainstorming for a new segment on the blog, and I have finally come up with something. The best part is that it involves you guys too!!

Beauty Products....

Hey y'all, today I just wanted to share some of my favorite beauty products that I use....

Face: in the morning and evenings I use the Clinique gel cleanser and gel moisturizer, this works really well as I have sensitive skin. Afterward I apply  Benefit Porefessional and stila tinted moisturizer which is very light coverage, with Bare Essentials mineral veil on top. For concealer I usually use erase paste which is good for blemishes and under eye circles. For lips i'm a fan of Tarte lip balm or bare essentials lip gloss, both have a subtle sheen but nothing over the top. Tweezerman tweezers are also a big essential for me as they keep my bushy eyebrows tame.

Hair/Nails: for Hair I use Moroccan Oil  and John Frieda Frizz ease, both keep my hair from becoming all fro' like.  For nails I am a huge fan of Essie and my favorite color is "turquoise and cacaos"

Oh My, How Long It Has Been!

This is just unacceptable! I haven't posted since Saturday. Now since y'all have been soooo patient, this post will be extra long!

Now I don't know if y'all know this or not, but I just love Carly Rae Jepsen! I feel as though everyone can relate to at least one song. Her new singles have been at the top of my playlist, as they are just so catchy! So here is a look at my playlist.

As you can see I also love Maroon 5 and Taylor Swift, so I guess you could say I kinda like chick music.













This past weekend I also hung out with my friend L when I was in RI, we took lots of pictures and here are some of our faves!

Ok now to continue this extra long post I will show you some of the contenders for the dress I will be wearing to the homecoming dance next week!

The theme is Saints and Sinners so white black or red is kinda the dress code. Unfortunately I can't find any red dresses! For some reason it's hard to find a red dress that isn't overly sleezy or too conservative...
