Graduation dresses........

Recently Graduation dresses has been the dinner table conversation. I know what you thinking but its never to early to look, because you want to make sure no one has the same dress as you. Today my sister started the hunt and went to Lilly to try a few she liked in the catalog. She ended up really liking one, but wanted to still keep looking. My sister and I tastes are pretty different so I'll be showing you some of my top choices for graduation dresses.

Y'all probably don't know this but I have a teensy bit of an obsession with everything that is southern. My mother spent a good portion of her life in the south and still can't figure out why she married a Yankee ;) she has raised me and my sister in a southern mentality, and with all of this yucky weather, I can't wait for warmer days. So without further adieu here are some of my favorite things about the south.

When I go to college I am definitely going to join a sorority, they aren't as big up north so I'll definitely going to school down south

Although there are a few people who embrace Lilly there are certainly not as many as down south. up here there are to many kids dressing like they are 25 and too many moms dressing like their kids.

wishlist!

1. J.Crew Shorts: these are my go to's in the summer and the new colors would be a perfect addition to my collection!

2. LuluLemon: I never thought I would be a workout wear junky but I have officially become obsessed with Lulu. Their free to be tank, groove pants and the energy bra are all on my list!

3. VV baseball cap: This one is beyond cute, and for those hot and humid days in the summer I'm gonna need something to cover up that bad hair.

4. Lilly dress: I love Lacina dres but I could be happy with anything from Lilly. I'm especially looking for something I can wear to my sisters graduation, and both of these would be perfect!

5. Laudree Macaroons: there is a shop on Madison that I may have to visit as I hear their macaroons are divine!

6. David Yurman Cable Bracelet in Topaz: I adore this bracelet, it is beyond cute. Perfect for stacking or wearing alone, not mention a lifetime piece you'll love for your whole life!

7. Delia dress: I just love love love this dress! I also hear its on sale which makes it even better!

8. monogrammed tervis: I have been wanting one of these forever!

9. Callahan shorts: I hear these are the best! the prints are beyond fabulous and so is the fit! I just bought myself a pair but I think I might do as Lilly suggests and " stuff as many as I can into my drawer"

10. Tory Burch Reva: I really want another pair of Revas I just threw out an old pair because they were so beat  up, so I'm hoping for a new pair in one of the three above colors. (i'm leaning towards red or orange, what do y'all think?)

So this is my wishlist for my B-Day, i'm not expecting every thing but a few from the list would be nice especially the yurman!

the skinny...

recently I've been obsessed with pinning fitspo and lets get health motivation. its really  important to me to be in good shape and be an overall healthy person and some of the quotes pictures and recipes help me get motivation to complete my goals.

For me it's not as much about being skinny as it is being healthy, yes I want that moment where I reach my goal weight but I want to do it the right way, no binging and purging just good healthy food a hard workout and the right mindset will get me to being the best version of me.

Kate Spade Saturday

For those of you who don't know K ate Spade is launching a new line called Saturday. The line is going to be cheaper, younger, and just as much fun! It's launching March but I found a few pictures of what you can expect.

I'm head over heels in love with the orange pink dress, I saw it in Lucky and
 I think it was priced right under 200 which is about half of what
 you pay for regular Kate Spade 

These bags are super practical.
Great colors+simple style= wear everywhere

Love the idea of a "three ways to wear it" dress. not sure if i love the pattern
(kinda makes the model look chubby in shot 1, which is usually not a good sign)

review: hmmmm... I can't really decide what I think of the collection as a whole. there are some cute pieces that I would most definitely wear but there are also some real (excuse my french) fugly pieces too. The fact that they are adding studs or jewels or whatever those cheap pieces of plastic that are clinging to the treasured shift dress is atrocious. The prints are cute but i feel as though the colors are out of sorts for Lilly, I mean since when does Lilly do neon skinny ankle zipper jeans? Now don't get me wrong those jeans are super cute but I just wouldn't expect that from Lilly as they usually take the more traditional route. This collection has a more 'kate spade' feeling too it, just with the use of bows, and metallic tweed, which i find a little overwhelming, as I thought one dress would of been totally fine without the giant bow on the front of it, and in my opinion that said bow ruined the dress.  It's a fun collection no doubt i just feel as though recently Lilly has been different, this may be due to the new ownership but I want the old Lilly back as those pieces were things you couldn't find any where else! So I guess I like the collection I'm not head over heels and I know that the items I love so will anyone else with decent taste, which means they will not be at the warehouse sale, so I may have to pay retail GRRRRRR. For all of y'all who know me I almost never pay retail, I think that something are worth paying retail for like Jack or all of my J.crew shorts I payed retail for, because they only go on sale in august and at that point summers almost over so there is no point in buying  shorts. Other items though like most of my designer jeans and my ridding boots I get on sale, because I just don;t get why you would pay retail if you don't have to. In fact one of the most fashionable women I know tells me she always has the sales associates at Ralph put things aside for her until they are 50% off not because she can't afford it but because she is a bargain hunter by nature and can't justify paying 1,500 dollars for riding boots no matter  how scrumptious they are. so back on topic I like the collection it's different than I expected but maybe I'll find something I love in stores that I thought was hideous online. Who knows?

LILLY SPRING COLLECTION!! part 1

As some of you may know, Lilly is releasing it's spring collection on Monday. Although it may be frigid up here in the north, I can't wait until that day when its warm enough to slip on my jacks and  a  Lilly shift!I've seen some pictures from the upcoming collection, and it's very bright. The patterns are traditional Lilly, but they spiked 'em up a bit with really bright colors. Soooo here is an uber special sneak peak at what is to come!

I am in love with this dress. its casual enough for afternoon
tea, and formal enough to wear to dinner at the club.

The Buttercup shorts are back!!! I regretted not picking these up
last summer, but now I have a chance to stock up, as they are
coming in many fun prints and pink seersucker as well!

the scoop: bargain hunting

I don't know if y'all are aware but Ebay is a great place to find Lilly Pulitzer and other great designer goods at a fraction of the price. I have also sold goods on Ebay too which is great if your looking for some extra cash. most of the money that I make from these sales goes to well, buying new Lilly, as my parent give me a certain amount of money ( called my clothing allowance) every 6 months. Although its a decent amount of money, it won't buy me much at Lilly or VV which is where i like to shop. so to make some extra cash I sell all my clothing that I either don't fit into or don't use anymore on Ebay.

The Lilly Pulitzer warehouse sale is also a great place to find Lilly's resort and spring merchandise from this year, dramatically marked down. I go every year with my mom and sister along with my mom's friend and her girls who also happen to be Lilly obsessed. Every year i walk away with Lilly goodies discounted from 50-90% off. you never know what they will have so you can't walk in there with your mind set on one particular item as you may not find it. Although they may not have every item they do have a huge selection, especially if your looking for strapless dresses or wedges (that was just my experience last year, the selection varies each year). The drive is a little long for us new englanders but a three hour car ride is a small price to pay for a warehouse filled with miss Lilly P's works of art on SALE!

Consignment shops are also a great way to get some designer goods that are lightly used for a good price. I recently picked up a pink brooks brothers cashmere cable knit sweater for about 35 dollars at my local consignment shop.
